Angel numbers are repeating number sequences, like 111 or 444, that many people in modern spiritual communities read as meaningful nudges rather than coincidence. The idea was popularised by Doreen Virtue's 2008 book Angel Numbers 101 and spread widely through social media.

How angel numbers relate to numerology
Angel numbers borrow numerology's number meanings but use them differently. Numerology reads the fixed numbers in your name and birth date as a stable blueprint. Angel numbers treat a sequence you happen to notice as a message in the moment, with its meaning based on the repeated digit: 1 for beginnings, 2 for partnership, 4 for stability, and so on.
They are best understood as a bridge topic: same symbolism, different framing. Neither is scientifically supported. Repeated numbers tend to feel significant partly because of well-documented cognitive patterns: once a number is on your mind, you notice it more (frequency illusion), and you remember the hits and forget the misses.
